Great "thin" wallet
January 8, 2018
I replaced my L-shape leather Big Skinny wallet after around 4-5 years with the multi-pocket bifold and am extremely happy with the choice. The synthetic bifold material makes the wallet slimmer than the leather version and slims things down quite a bit. In terms of card-carrying capacity, I did not see a big reduction in going from the L-shape wallet, which is quite generous, to the more compact bifold. It was an opportunity to trim down on carrying some of my old store cards and the like, but I probably didn't have to do that other than to make the new wallet slimmer. The card pockets seem a bit stickier (in a good way) compared to the old leather version and things seem to stay better organized and compact after loading up the wallet. Also, the billfold area seems a tad deeper - perhaps this is more my imagination. I will know once I try to carry international notes like pounds sterling in it. Lastly, the wallet is also a little bit "flexier" than the leather version and this allows it to conform to pant pockets a bit better, IMO. One difference is the Big Skinny logo, which sticks out a bit in the new version vs. the embossing on the leather wallet. However, this seems to help in terms of pulling the wallet out of the pocket - so I will consider this a feature rather than a bug.
Overall, I am super happy with my new wallet and I hope that I have many years of yeoman service with it as with my last Big Skinny.
